Who the hell do you think you are?

The question I get the most. I'm Robert - a professional visual artist and illustrator. I make my home in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania USA. I spend my days rendering many subjects including landscapes and cityscapes, but I have a special affinity for portraiture.

What the hell do you think you're doing?

The short answer - no idea. I spend most days (and most nights actually) in the studio creating, staring, discarding, starting over, procrastinating, cursing, quitting, resuming, and eventually abandoning. My work is consists of mixed media (watercolor, ink, pencil, chalk, marker and digital) on paper. I use whatever tool I feel is necessary to capture my personal interpretation of the subject. Unless I've run out of that tool and haven't been to the store - in which case I use whatever is lying around.

I saw a piece on your Instagram/website. Is it available for sale?

Unless it was a commissioned work, the original is sometimes for sale. If it is, I'll post it in my online store. Feel free to inquire via email about a specific piece and I'll be happy to let you know the status.

What about prints?

I try and convert most non-commissioned work into prints. Prints are Giclee and created on textured fine art, archival-quality, acid-free 310 gsm paper. All prints editions are limited to very small runs (usually 20-25) and each print is hand-signed and numbered.

All available prints are for sale via the online store.

Do you take commission work?

Yes. Most of my work is by commission. If you are interested a custom piece of artwork, learn more here.
